As the soft hues of Easter begin to colour the season, I find myself reaching for my paper trimmer and pastel palettes with a sense of quiet joy. Easter has always held a special place in my heart - it's a time of hope, reflection, and fresh beginnings. And for me, there's no better way to honour that than through something made with love: a handmade card.
In our fast-moving world, I still believe there’s immense value in the small, thoughtful gestures. A beautifully crafted card isn’t just paper and glue - it’s a message of care, a moment of pause, and a way to bring people just a little closer.
🐰 The Bunnies
You’ll find that bunnies feature quite a bit in my Easter collection — and for good reason. There’s something about those sweet little faces and twitchy noses that brings out the childlike wonder in all of us. I hand-cut, layer, and detail each one to feel like they’ve hopped right off the page. Some are cheeky, others serene, but all of them are here to make someone smile.
🥚 The Eggs
Easter eggs in my designs are never just eggs. They shimmer with foil, sparkle or are handembossed for lovely textures. Each one is unique, just like the people they’re made for. I love experimenting with colour and texture to make every egg feel like a little treasure — symbolic of the hidden joys this season often brings.
🙏 The Blessings
More than anything, Easter is a season of faith, peace, and gentle hope. That’s why many of my cards include heartfelt blessings—quiet messages of love, scripture verses, or simple words like “He is Risen” written in delicate calligraphy. These cards are made to comfort, to uplift, and to remind us that even in the smallest gestures, there can be deep meaning.
Why I Make These Cards
Every card I make is bespoke — lovingly handmade right here in Aotearoa. I don’t mass-produce, and I never rush. I believe something beautiful happens when we slow down, when we put care into the details.
